The Antithesis of Wedding Week, Day 2
Trixie got her arms stuck behind her back trying to pull off a sweater and then she tripped, facefirst, on the hardwood floor. Her chin almost immediately turned purple and we were prepared to take her to the emergency room with a broken jaw. However, the help-line nurse said Trixie would be in a lot more pain (she had stopped crying after 5 minutes) and the swelling would be enormous if her jaw were actually broken.

It scared the crap out of us, but did turn out to be nothing; Trixie was able to eat pizza later that night. Trixie ate Oreos the day of this photo (which was taken 5 days after the accident).
Photo taken October 9th, 2005.
Age: 26 months.

Ouch... what a little trooper! Oreos and popsicles sound like just the right medicine :)

POOR little one.. :( That would hurt so much on us adults, so it's hard to see a little toddler have that! It looks like she is doing okay, so that's good!

That really is a lovely hematoma. She seems to be wearing it quite proudly.

Say what you will about Trixie, but that kid really knows how to take a punch!

Glad to see she's OK.

And there I thought she had fallen into her mud pie. Guess that was just MY son.

She's a tough one, that Trixie. That's a nasty bruise. Glad she's okay!

Trixie seems quite pleased with herself here. Glad it was nothing serious, but that still looks pretty painful!

I'm glad Trixie's ok! I have to ask, between you and Jenn, is one of you the calm-in-an-emergency parent and the other is the freak-out-and-scare-the-crap-out-of-the-kid parent?

Oh my gawd, my chin is hurting just from looking at it, it really is no kidding. I don't think I can handle it. Ewww disgusting. I'm glad Trixie is no cry baby, shes a tough one that kid!

I dunno what I'd do if I had a child with one of those things on her chin. i don't think I could look at it. oh the things parents have to go thru.

I hope it fades quickly and doesn't hurt!
