Doesn't everyone color while waiting for their food? You can make a lot of things with hand tracings, you know. Antlers on reindeer, turkeys, butterflies, spiders (no thumbs involved), or most any four legged animal (those take more imagination). All the kids I take care of love the creatures we create! Does Trixie have a Magna doodle yet? If not, I highly recommend it. Wait until you teach her how to trace her foot... it will provide lots of entertainment value (and time!) as she is able to "try" it herself. Posted by: Jennifer at February 1, 2005 09:02 AM

I just saw your spot on MSN.com and thought it was such a cool idea! I'm due with my first, a boy, in about 5 weeks, so I'm of course soaking up as much information as possible (I have a lot of free time now that I am not working.) Where can I find pictures of the belly button that I saw on the segment? There is so much "they" don't tell you about or prepare you for ("they" being the medical professionals.) Thanks for such an informational, interesting site! Posted by: Valerie at February 1, 2005 01:24 PM

Jennifer: I've never heard of a Magna Doddle, but I'm going to check it out. thanks- haeshu: Full time? We wish. It's about a 20th of the time. Maybe a 30th... Valerie: I'm glad you like the site. You can find most stories by using the search box at the top of the Trixie Update home page. In this case, the story you're looking for is: Evolution of a Belly Button. Go to Walmart.com or target.com and type in magna doodle. My 2 1/2 year old loves to draw pictures of her daddy on it. Had to buy another for my 15 month old because we were starting to have fights over the thing. We also have the mini version in the car- super for taking into stores and such! Good luck! I have been viewing your sight for a while now and really enjoy it. Well, I hear one of them is awake from naptime... gotta go! Posted by: Jennifer at February 1, 2005 02:25 PM

Another supporter of Magna Doodle. To put it in "our generation" perspective, Ben ... it works on a similar principle to the old "move the magnet dust around the bald guy's face" toy but it works a lot better nowadays. There's color ones, mini ones .. I think we have 5 different kinds around from the various gifts~ Posted by: Lennon's Dad at February 1, 2005 03:53 PM
