I love your phrase "disposable moments" but it got me to thinking. Even thought the moments themselves may be forgotten, they still are bricks in the foundation of our relationship with that person.

I can relate to your experiences with Trixie. The moments are only disposable if you let them be forgotten.

When my daughters were little, I kept a pocket daily planner around & jotted down their funny observations. They're teens now and that little book just makes us all laugh & laugh everytime it's opened.

So true. Disposable moments. (been going through a lot of those lately...) Who knows. Maybe someday she will start recording them herself?

Anyways.. thanks for passing those moments along to us.

Trixie.. you make me smile, always.

Wow. I can't believe I've only just found this site. My ds will be one next Saturday and I could have used your tracking system months ago! Anyway, I love this entry. As an English teacher, I really appreciate her creativity. As a parent, I really appreciate how well you articulated "the disposable moments". I'm an instant fan of the site and am adding you to favorites. Thanks!

What a great simile! I'm sure there are writers out there (myself included) who would struggle for hours, if not days, trying to come up with something that described the cuteness of a kitten so succinctly.

Now that's a milestone I hope I remember when it happens for my daughter, Kaylee.
