It got to the point where she'd start to tantrum every time I'd try to pay for something. Now she knows that she can only play with it at home - and lord knows I let her! Unfortunately, Clark didn't fall for it. We tried a few weeks back offering one of several old remotes without the batteries, but he pushed the buttons a couple of times and then tossed it lunged for the one and only operable remote. I think the allure must be the fact that we're always taking the "real" one away. I have, however, managed to trick him with an old calculator on occasion. THEN, he looks at me while sitting in the car, holds his hands up to the side and says "key?" So, I gave in and gave him some keys and then he got upset that there was no hole for them. Alas, there is a "fake" gas tank hole that will suffice right now until he figures out my ruse and we have to use a screwdriver to poke a hole near the steering wheel for his keys!
