More of the same

We’ve been taking a beating on the comments board, over the phone and in person – it’s time to make another apology for the lack of posts. There are lots of good excuses; most have to do with Jennifer’s horrific call schedule. I’ve been trying to keep a skeleton version of the site running, but we’ve also had to cut back the TPOD to just five days a week. Anyway, we’re aware of the problem, and working to catch up.

P.S. there’s a new poll.

Hi.. wow great site. My wife and I have a similar site for our “yet to be born” son. I really like your real-time telemetry info. I have to ask tho.. how do you keep this kind of data updated… are you working from home and carrying some sort of 80211.b enabled handheld or do you just live on your computer?

asleep… awake… bottle 1, 2,3 diaper 3,5.. thats a lot to track and get into your site even if you have trixie right thre next to your machine.. so I am guessing you have one if not more wireless devices all over your place…

Great site.. hope you don’t mind iof we borrow some of your neat ideas when our boy comes out….

I’m glad you like the telemetry. We have a small apartment with the computer in a central location and it’s always on, so it’s not that hard to update the site as events occur. No 802.11.b necessary.

The three Logs (Sleep, Bottle and Diaper) are mapped to function keys so it’s very easy to record everything. Change the diaper, throw it away, hit F9, etc. (If it wasn’t easy, I wouldn’t do it. Taking care of a baby is enough work in itself!)

If I’m out of the house, I just log the data when I get back home.

Also, congrats on your impending arrival. Sleep now, you won’t get another chance for about 6 months.

This site is awesome. I was reading your last post and I wanted to let you know that I also track my turds, but I use a Sony Clie running Palm OS. When I take a dump, I press the phone key, followed by the jog dial in the up direction.

When I get home, I sync the Clie to my computer, and it uploads the time, size, relative smell, and a digital photo taken with my Nokia PicturePhone of the actual turd. It’s pretty cool, don’t you think.

I could share the programs I wrote for this with you if you want. I think it would make your trips out with Trixie more fun for you both.

I’m working on a way to monitor my farts for the same reason.

    Thanks for listening,
