Paper Mâché vs. Rice Cereal

There is actually no winner here. Paper mâché and rice cereal are completely interchangeable. Rice cereal is disgusting and much better suited for piñatas than the human digestive system. Paper mâché can also be mixed with breast milk but, unlike rice cereal, is nontoxic. Further confusing the issue is that Trixie’s face is so covered with rice cereal when we’re done feeding her that adding a few strips of newspaper would make a mask. Nonetheless, Trixie is eating like there’s no tomorrow so we figure we can advance to the next stage. We’re going to start on real baby food (in the jar) tomorrow or Wednesday.

Fatherhood changes you in many ways. MacNeill is now a comedic genius. I like it.

One thing I miss about my Mac is the relative ease at which one can employ obscure diacritical marks.

try mixing the rice cereal with a bit of baby food when you switch over. :) Trixie rules!

  4. Charlie says:

The American Academy of Pediatrics currently recommends gradually introducing solid foods after 6 months of age. This is to no doubt avoid the onset of allergies. Procede with caution.

    All (in order):

    1) We at the Trixie Update try to maintain a sense of humor despite the lack of sleep. Thanks!

    2) While I am a big Mac fan, it doesn’t deserve the credit in this situation. Spelling paper mâché properly on a web page is accomplished using OS-independent HTML special characters.

    3) Yes, Trixie does rule.

    4) We’re planning to proceed with caution. I absolutely will not feed her puréed pizza until 6 months.

The vision of Trixie as a human papier mache mask (sorry, no accents here) is really cracking me up. I think it would work – be bold and give it a try and be sure to post it for all to marvel at in awe and horror. Too bad it’s not Halloween now.
