No, I don’t mean bourbon — that will come later. Except we’ll call it “cough medicine” and give it to her at night. Today we’re talking about Hepatitis B. We thought we had heard her scream before, but she showed us.
* Trixie actually received her first Hep B in the hospital. Today was her first outpatient vaccination.

Poor little thing!!! I feel for her (and for you guys)!!! Hopefully you all will sleep very well tonight!!
You guys have gotten it all wrong. You’re supposed to give a shot FOR a shot. Rub some bourbon on her gums to ease the pain and THEN give her the Hepatitis B shot.
Oh well. You’ll know for next time.
You are hilarious! My sister sent me your website and have started from the beginning to read. You sound like my brother-in-law. If they had had any children, I would guess he’d be doing charts and grafts too. Anyway, to get to why I am writing. Check with your doctor first, but if you find that Trixie is crabby, grumpy and slightly feverish after well care doctor visits (Trixie is feeling fine but just going for immunization shots) you might want to give her a dose of Children’s Tylenol about 1/2 hour before the appointment. That way it’s starting to work before you get there and she should be less fussy afterwards.
PS. While you are asking the doctor, ask him about the Acetometaphin baby supositories. They are at the drug store, but some have them behind the counter, they are not prescription. Dose by weight. Always handy to have. If Trixie gets sick, and throwing up… and you just gave her liquid Tylenol, you won’t be able to give her another dose for 4-6 hours (and real *itch to get off clothes, rugs and furniture) but if you use the Tylenol supository, it doesn’t get expelled and starts to work faster than the liquid would have had it stayed inside. Only problem is if she has diahrreha too.
